The Natural Capital Finance Alliance (NCFA) is the former name of a partnership between Global Canopy, the UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), and the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), now called the Encore Partnership. Together, they developed a free online tool to help organizations understand their environmental impacts—ENCORE.

How to become a Signatory

The NCFA welcomes the participation of financial institutions that will join NCD working groups to contribute to developing and testing guidance and methodologies. This relies on professionals from different departments coming together to jointly understand and explore ways to address emerging natural capital challenges and embed natural capital considerations within their organisations.

 

All types of financial institutions including banks, institutional investors, asset managers, insurance firms and credit rating agencies are invited to become signatories of the NCD.

 

The following information is required in order to become a signatory:

 

NCD signatory letter signed by the CEO (available upon request).

 

Quote of the CEO outlining the organisation’s motivation for signing the NCD (to be uploaded onto this website).

 

Photo of the CEO to accompany the quote (to be uploaded onto this website).

 

Brief profile of the organisation and its existing environmental and/or sustainability initiatives.

After signing the NCD, you will:

 

Be invited to join one of more Working Groups based on your interests and needs.
